Hey there…
a little about my practice
In Which I Become “Official”
In March, I was asked by Erin Harker from The Magick Makers to join their online community as Resident AstroHerbalist.
Forsythia
“You can come out now; I feel your anxiety, your resistance, your hesitancy, your doubt~ for it is my own. The danger is real, but so is your Brilliant Being.”
Scorpio Full Moon / Blackberry
To be known by the Moon in Scorpio is to be Seen by the Dark.
Aries New Moon / Impatiens
A planet is not exalted when it’s comfortable at home. It has stories to tell and skeletons in its closet. It is a planet which has tried and failed, gained and lost, honed itself against trials until it is razor sharp.
Libra Full Moon / Yarrow
The place where the skin is thinnest between you and I, where we can feel the warmth of each other’s blood~ Life Force dwelling within the tension of fragile veins.
Pisces New Moon / Dandelion
Gentle Dandelion, “generally regarded as safe” by the medical establishment, is at the forefront of the Plant Revolution. What spreads Life will overcome what poisons it.
Full Moon in Virgo / Burdock
As a swamp by definition is connected to a larger body of water, Virgo need only reach out its hand to brush its fingers against Raw, Unadulterated Source, the chaos from which it draws all things
New Moon in Aquarius / Skullcap
I chose Skullcap for this lunation because I know of no Plant so generous with its tension dissolving gifts.
Leo Full Moon / Borage
The fruit we produce in exile feeds a weird and weary world full of Individuals who suffer at the hands of Systems not centralized around a common Heart.
Capricorn New Moon / Vervain
Being forgiven the debt of production, the quota of resolutions, the association of work and worth; lay them down in the quiet of this Dark Moon and accept Vervain’s bitter medicine and the sweetness of rest.
Requiem
The Scorpio season can be our opportunity to offer up our own eulogies, to wail by open graves we’ve dug ourselves, to buy ourselves flowers knowing that the next step is being born again.
Canvas Rebel Interview
jewelweed
My yard has been awash in Jewels this year and I couldn’t be more delighted. I love these gorgeous, explosive Beings and have benefited from working with them many, many times.
What is AstroHerbalism?
What IS astroherbalism? If you’re curious about many-layered relationship between Plant and Planetary Bodies {and how they relate to our own Human Bodies} this one’s for YOU!
Plantain; Weedy Determination
I am a weed of a person…
an herb for curses, crucifixions and familiar poisons
Perhaps it’s this bloodied blend of demons and our determination to either nail them down or be nailed down by them that creates the perfect storm for Vervain to roll up its sleeves and work with.
good for what haunts you
While working with me is significantly less theatrical than the seance scene in "Beetlejuice" {and slightly less musical} the outcome may be just as dramatic. Being at peace with and within oneself is something very precious.
Herbs for a Wounded Heart
Some of us live with wounded hearts. The accumulation of heartbreak - like the repeated dislocating of a joint - creates a chronic ache. Even the most vibrant of joys and delicious of loves feel limping and clouded. Those who live with a chronic condition know - there are good days and bad; you do the best with each. Here are some plant allies I have leaned on when having a "flair-up".
Impatiens Essence; A portrait of pain
Force of will is good - when tempered with patience. Individuality is good - within a community. Energy with gentleness. Structure with grace and flexibility. Mental Genius with peace and rest. Growing towards the good of All, not just to conquer square mileage.
