good for what haunts you
While working with me is significantly less theatrical than the seance scene in "Beetlejuice" {and slightly less musical} the outcome may be just as dramatic. Being at peace with and within oneself is something very precious.

Herbs for a Wounded Heart
Some of us live with wounded hearts. The accumulation of heartbreak - like the repeated dislocating of a joint - creates a chronic ache. Even the most vibrant of joys and delicious of loves feel limping and clouded. Those who live with a chronic condition know - there are good days and bad; you do the best with each. Here are some plant allies I have leaned on when having a "flair-up".

Impatiens Essence; A portrait of pain
Force of will is good - when tempered with patience. Individuality is good - within a community. Energy with gentleness. Structure with grace and flexibility. Mental Genius with peace and rest. Growing towards the good of All, not just to conquer square mileage.

Oak Essence
There is a rigid solitude to the Oak type, sometimes born of necessity. Not many people can face what they have and been able to stand it. Sometimes they say, “I’m the only one who Can...” perhaps from a place of quiet despair or even misplaced pride. Their strength has often been forced upon them and now they believe it is a core aspect of their identity. If they stop enduring- they stop being.

Cerato Flower Essence
We keep asking - but we already know where to go, or have an inkling. We already know what to say, or have the opening paragraph. We already know what needs to be done, or at least the first step. Even if we don't think we do. It's easier to say we don't know and that makes us critically ill inside.

Essences for Dark and Light
Today I am shifting my pattern of Never Going In The Basement. Of avoiding the *thing* that catches on the corner of my eye. Of ignoring the creak of the cellar door as it comes unlocked. This is a time of year for raking up and clearing out all the corners of our living spaces - mental and otherwise. Autumn, the Time of Dying, has come and everything is letting go, sinking under, and the natural world seems to be speeding towards its own deep sleep with a vengeance. The nights grow long and cold and there is less to distract us from the monster hiding under the bed.

Choosing an Essence
Flower essences aren't some magical fairy potions that will rid you of all your pain and suffering. They are shovels that can remove years of toxic sh*t that's built up in your heart and mind - but you have to do a great deal of the shoveling. They are keys that can unlock incredible shifts in our energy and experiences, but you have to discover the right one and Use It in the proper lock. They are oxygen tanks and scuba gear, but you have to jump off the boat and dive to the deep dark to retrieve the treasure. They are enablers in *the best sense*.
